Happy to have you here on my stop of the Blog Tour for Training Tracey by L.M. Mountford. This was a hot, quickie, read. I posted
Every once in awhile, I like to take a walk on the dark side and read something outside of my usual genres. It’s not that I get bored with what I enjoy, I just like to explore. This book fit the bill as something that I wouldn’t normally pick up.
“Training Tracey” by L.M. Mountford is a coming-of-age menage dark romance. A married couple comforts their daughter’s friend and usher her into adulthood. The novella is short, SUPER-sexy and erotic as hell. This is not a deep, “get to know the characters” type of story. It’s an all out “get to the sex” story, and it works.
I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to read this book. Check out my Goodreads review for more.
There are so many book genres out there these days that it doesn’t take too much to find a hybrid or mash-up of different types. One of my favorites is sports romances because (honestly) who doesn’t like a hunky sports figure who finds the right girl to tame him. If they don’t like each other at first, all the better.
“Want it All” by Elizabeth Perry starts with an absolutely cringe-worthy party; it also perfectly illustrates why the two main characters, Brock and Samantha, need to work together. We already know that I don’t give away plots, but the tension between the two is earned.
Books of this type don’t often have a lot of depth, but that isn’t meant to be an insult. It’s more that the reader doesn’t have to think too hard to follow the story. This is a good thing. The author throws a subplot in that kinda makes sense and kinda adds a little depth, and it works within the context of the story.
If you’re a fan of either sports or frenemies to lovers, this is the book for you. My Goodreads review is below.
